But other top accolades such as Best Director and Best Actress went to ‘The Way We Are’, based on with the working class neighbourhood.

John Woo’’s war epic Red Cliff won several technical awards including the Best Visual Effects category, reports the BBC.

The Best Actor trophy went to Nick Cheung for his performance in the thriller The Beast Stalker, while Chan Lai-wun took home the Best Actress prize for The Way We Are.

Liu Kai-chi dominated the Best Supporting Actor category and 11-year-old Xu Jiao was named Best New Performer for her role in the CJ7.
