Canon has announced its waterproof Powershot D10 camera. The product is said to be the waterproof up to 10 meters, dustproof and freeze proof up to -10 degrees (Celsius). It’s said to be the first waterproof camera from the Canon.

The product has brought the company into line with models from the likes of Nikon with their W60 and the Olympus Tough and SW models.

The camera features a 3x optical zoom, 35mm wide angle and 640×480 maximum resolution videos, a 2.5” LCD and a 12.1 MP sensor. It’s having a Face Self-Timer, Blink Detection, Face Select & Track and Smart Auto Mode and Auto Red-Eye Correction.

Around the back one can find a 2.5-inch PureColor LCD II display, protected by a 2mm shield so you don’t smash it up whilst out on your adventures. It also offers double the brightness of Canon’s normal LCD II displays.

It’s also shockproof, meaning it could be dropped 1.22 meters and still be fine, the company said in a release. It would be available at a price tag of $329 in the market from April this year only.
