Because of security reasons Microsoft intends to abandon Internet Explorer 6 in order users could start upgrading to IE7 or IE8. The company is preparing its next version known as IE9 that is available with HTML 5 support and offers optimized performance.

But it is still unknown when the new browser will be available and according to IE General Manager Dean Hachamovitch, the browser will not only back up HTML 5, also the company is working hard to make the Web presentation specification a standard.

Due to HTML 5 support, users will be provided with optimized rendering speeds, moreover, developers will be able to create dynamic Web applications that will be able to perform well across different browsers.

As HTML 5 is not yet a standard, it looks like it is behind the times. And probably due to appealing features like tabs in Firefox could lead customers away from IE to other browsers.

A research was made by Janco Associates which says that Microsoft IE is still developing the pack of browsers despite the fact that it is losing market share in the past 12 months. At present Microsoft has 65% of the total browser market which is considered to be lesser compared to 80% in February 2007.

Jaipur, March 15  Twenty six people, including 11 women, were killed and 34 injured early Monday when a bus fell over a bridge into a river in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district, police said.

The bus was carrying about 60 students and staff of Mother India Teacher Training College, Jhalawar.

The bus was on its way back from a picnic in Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh.

The accident took place about 50 km from Sawai Madhopur.

“The incident occurred at around 3.30 a.m. when a bus of a teacher training school fell over the bridge in the Morel river. Rescue operations are going on and as of now we have recovered 26 bodies,” Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar told IANS on the phone.

The injured have been admitted to a local government hospital.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is on top of the wish list of ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron who is keen to cast the actor in one of his films.

The director of two of the highest-grossing films in the history of cinema, ‘Titanic’ and ‘Avatar’, Cameron shared the stage with the actor known as ‘Mr Perfectionist’ at the India Today Conclave 2010 here today and said that he was honoured to do so.

“I am honoured to be sharing the stage with Aamir Khan.

He is on top of his game and it is his birthday tomorrow and he chose to attend the session with me foregoing his birthday, so I consider that a great honour,” said the 55-year-old director.

Sony’s recently revealed PlayStation Move game controller has the capability to support up to four players with complete configuration on PlayStation 3 console. Four Move controllers can be joined or a couple of pairs of Move controller with the Subcontroller can be interconnected to PS3. The new PlayStation Move controller has two high-precision motion sensors to detect the movement. A senior product manager for Developer Relations at Adobe, Mike Chambers has declared that Adobe and Microsoft are in operating closely with each other to get Flash Player 10.1 to the Internet Explorer Mobile on Windows Phone 7 Series devices.
