Hyderabad: TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has launched his fast-unto-death stir in Khammam sub-jail on Sunday for Telangana issues. The leader was arrested and remanded to 14 days.
KCR’s nephew and party MLA T Harish Rao and other leaders were arrested at Siddipet. Harish Rao doused himself with petrol when police tried to arrest him but he was overpowered. Harish and 13 others were later granted bail.
In the mean time, the TRS has called for a bandh in Telangana on Monday. “This is undemocratic. The government action is not acceptable. We are appealing to all to observe a bandh in the entire region,” TRS floor leader in the assembly Etela Rajender said in Karimnagar.
Earlier, in a dramatic turn of events, the TRS chief was arrested at Alaganoor on the outskirts of Karimnagar while he was on his way to Siddipet for the fast.
