A major part of Nikhil Advani’s film “Chandni Chowk to China” has been shot in Bangkok, not in China. This left his desire of shooting a film in China unfulfilled. 
The director and crew of the film had to leave China in a hast and look for a location that could replace China.
Akshay Kumar athletic actions seemed to intrude the preparations of Olympics by the authorities.
“It was the year of the Olympics in China and it became impossible beyond a point to shoot in the country where our film is based. Maybe a quieter less flamboyant film, but not the kind of action that Akshay has shot”, says Nikhil. “Bangkok’s topography is quite similar to China. Also, it’s a very Bollywood-friendly country. So we just had to let go of the real country. Because the action scenes required Olympian skills and infrastructure”, he further added.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, a few stunts from old time action hero Mithun Chakraborty can also be seen in the movie ‘Chandni Chowk to China’.
