New Delhi: Defence minister A K Antony, while addressing the 44th foundation day anniversary of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses here said,”The increasing nexus between China and Pakistan in the military sphere remains an area of concern”
China has been the large supplier of military hardware and software for
Pakistan so far. For instance Pakistan’s some ballistic missiles was derived
from china’s M-9, M-11 and M-18 missiles and even Babur land-attack cruise missile was also developed under their assistance.
Just a few days back, JF-17 `Thunder’ fighter rolled out of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex at Kamra which was designed and developed by China.
China it self being a great reason to worry India along with its rapid modernisation of the 2.5-million strong People’s Liberation Army which is helping Pakistan to build its military capabilities with the support of missile and nuclear weapons doesn’t seem to be a good sign for India.
The minister further said, “We have to carry out continuous appraisals of Chinese military capabilities and shape our responses accordingly. At the same time, we need to be vigilant at all times.” But he was hopeful about China’s mutual trust-building and understanding with India.
