The former Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper, Sourav Ganguly says he wants to perform only for the team.

At the same time, breaking his silence for the first time after replacement, he said he had no objection to Brendon McCullum replacing him as the KKR.
Asked about the controversies being his second name, Ganguly smiled and said he had no clue why it was so, talking to a television channel in Cape Town.
Ganguly said, “I don’t know why it always happens to me. But being a sportsperson it’s (controversy) is a part and parcel of the game and you’ve got to live with it. As far as I am concerned, god has given me many things in life.”
When asked about McCullum, he said “McCullum is a dashing and dynamic player. He will be a good captain. I wish him all the luck. My sole aim is to score runs and play an important role in the team’s win. I will try and do well for the team.”
