Sure, most people want to lose weight and live freely once again, but are all weight loss programs the same? Everyone wants to be sexy, but not every program will get you there. Did you know that some diets will even cause you to gain weight, not lose it?
1. A diet is not a permanent weight loss solution – Simply cutting back on calories will often work for small losses of weight over a short time period, but really, who wants to diet forever? Do you want to eat the same, bland food everyday for the rest of your life?
2. A diet may backfire and actually cause weight gain – Every time you deny your body calories, it adjusts to the new amount. So if you have just started on a new diet with fewer calories than usual, your body will quickly adapt to the new amount. So then, it makes sense to make the amount of calories even fewer, but after a time, the body will cease to lose weight. If you then quit the program because it’s not working, you will put the lost weight back on because your body is accustomed to the higher amount of calories all of a sudden.
3. A diet may not only be disappointing but may cause loss of self esteem – It is hugely unrealistic to expect anyone to stay on a diet forever, and you likely know from experience that it is hard to stay on a diet. Sooner of later, you will ‘fall off the wagon’ and probably call yourself a failure. You begin to lose respect for yourself as other people do as well. No one should have to go through this.
4. A diet may cause health problems – As you diet, you restrict the amount of nutrients the body takes in. If you get to the point where the body isn’t getting the vitamins, minerals, protein, carbohydrates, etc, and continue then you will likely fall ill.
5. A diet may, in extreme cases, cause death – Simply put, a diet if taken to an extreme, can result in extreme health problems and damage internal systems and organs to the point of death.
6. There is a weight loss program that is better than a diet – Most people think dieting is useful and effective, but as you now know, it most likely isn’t. It has been known for a long time that sensible eating habits combined with regular physical activity (exercise), is the most effective means of weight loss. Anyone can see this when they look at diet supplements. Most of them will have a disclaimer like something as follows: “this product when used in conjunction with proper exercise and nutrition will enhance weight loss etc…”
Instead of a diet, learn how to eat and exercise properly and you will be able to burn fat from your body.
