New Delhi, March 30 (IANS) The union government Friday launched a web-based portal to provide information and guidance to millions of its pensioners and to redress their grievances online.
Inaugurating the portal, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, Suresh Pachauri, termed it as “a dedicated mechanism to redress the grievances of the pensioners in a time bound manner”.
He said it would also help streamline the pension sanctioning process for the central government pensioners and provide transparency, accountability and promptness in the system. Timely disposal of pension and retirement related matters will be ensured.
Pachauri said the non-interactive component of the portal would contain updated information on pension rules, various instructions issued under these rules and the database of pensioners.
The minister said the grievances would be monitored at three interlinked levels of pensioners’ associations, central ministries and departments, besides the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare.
