Indian government on Tuesday declare that it is not planning any military action towards Pakistan in response to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai that killed 183 people and left several hundred injured. pranab mukherjee 186x300 India not to take any military action against Pakistan

Foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee, on being asked about the options that India was considering as a response to the terrorist rampage, said, “Nobody is talking of military action”. He also said that India is waiting for a response from Pakistan.

According to Mukherjee’s statement, “some elements” based in Pakistan were suspected to be behind the Mumbai attacks. Intelligence sources reveal that attacks were carried out by terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Toiba, a group based in Pakistan.

Pakistan has also offered an option of joint investigation to probe into the Mumbai attacks. Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also said that they want to construct a bilateral agreement and are not in favor of any blame-game or finger-pointing.

Shahid Malik, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India has also been summoned by top officials in the Ministry of External Affairs. He has been handed down the demarche seeking strong action against those responsible for the Mumbai terror attacks.
