Krishna meets Russian Deputy Prime Minister

S. M. KrishnaExternal Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna on Monday discussed bilateral issues with Russian Deputy Prime Minister S.S. Sobyanin in the national capital.

Both sides reviewed cooperation in a number of priority sectors such as nuclear energy, space research, high technology, information and communications technology, and pharmaceuticals.

They also discussed ways and means of enhancing cooperation in these areas for strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations.

Sobyanin is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora to discuss issues of mutual interest.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit Bangalore, where he will visit the facilities of Infosys and will have interactions with business leaders.

Sobyanin further proposes to visit Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu to get a first hand account of the civilian nuclear facilities being developed with Russian cooperation there.
