India captain Anil Kumble was rushed to Apollo Hospital when he injured the little finger of his left hand while fielding on the third day of the third cricket Test against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla here Friday.

Indian team’s media manager G.S. Walia, however, said it was a minor injury. “The good thing is that he injured his non-bowling finger,” he said.

Kumble injured the little finger of his left hand when he tried to latch on to a difficult catch of Matthew Hayden at short mid-wicket off leg-spinner Amit Mishra.

Kumble has an impressive record at the Kotla. This is the venue where he picked up all 10 wickets in an innings against Pakistan.
