NEW DELHI: Indian scientists have developed the prototype of a $10 laptop (Rs 500) with 2 GB RAM!
The most talked laptop would be kept on display in Tirupati, at the launch of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology on 3 February.
The $10 laptop has been developed by students of Vellore Institute of Technology, scientists at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and IIT Madras, with public sector undertakings like the Semiconductor Complex.
The $10 laptop project is India’s answer to the $100 laptop of Massachussets Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Nicholas Negroponte, who was trying to hard sell the project to India.
