Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil has said that former Mumbai police commissioner Hasan Gafoor is set to face action for his statement about four senior police officers.

Gafoor. Patil came down heavily on the attitude of police officers making statements before the media.
Talking to the reporters in Mumbai, the minister said the responsibility would be fixed within 10 days on officials responsible for the loss of the file regarding purchase of the bulletproof jacket worn by former ATS chief Hemant Karkare, and that their services would be terminated.
Earlier, Maharashtra government had rejected Hasan Gafoor’s clarification on his statement about four senior police officers not keen on responding to the situation during the Mumbai terrorist attacks.
Patil also stood by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria, against whom allegations had been made by Vinita Kamte, widow of the slain Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Kamte.
