Mahatma Gandhi’’s followers take out peace rally in Srinagar

Mahatma GandhiA day prior to the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, members of the Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj held a peace march here today.

They assembled at the press colony to start the three-day Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.

“Our organisation has decided to celebrate Gandhi’’s birth anniversary for three days. Today is the first day of celebrations. We will take a peace march, form human chain, hold all-faith prayers and will pay tribute to Gandhi. All these aim at sending a message of peace. We pray for peace and prosperity of people,” said S P Verma, National Secretary of the Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj.

Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 and is known for peace and non-violence.

Recently, US President Barak Obama said that Mahatma Gandhi is his ideal and ”real hero”.
