microsoft 300x218 Microsoft all set to launch search engine BingLaunch of a new search engine dubbed Bing has been confirmed by Microsoft.

Set to debut on June 3, it will be a sort of latest challenge to Google’s domination in the search market. Bing will start with a soft launch in UK, along with initial emphasis on the US.

It is claimed by Redmond that the new consumer-focussed engine will understand what users are looking for and provide fewer, more targeted results in a new display format.

The company also plans developments like ‘Web Groups’, a more visually intuitive presentation which enables people to quickly get from knowledge to action, and ‘Quick Tabs’, a contents table for categories of Search results.

“Bing is being built in the UK over the next six to twelve months based on consumer insights and is designed to help people find the shortest distance from their initial search query to the point of making an informed decision”, said Paul Stoddart, UK Search Lead, Microsoft.
