Kiwi actress Lucy Lawless had to hit the gym to prepare for a nude scene in upcoming sword-and-sandals series for television, ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the 41-year-old actress spoke about her role as United States cable TV channel Starz unveiled the trailer for the gladiator series at a fan gathering in California.
Producer Steven DeKnight said that Spartacus is going to have “a death toll like nothing you”ve seen on television before”.
Lawless said that a nude scene in the TV series had forced her to join the gym.
“I do have to work out. Being naked on-screen is no fun,” the NZPA quoted her as saying.
The shooting for the series has begun in New Zealand and is slated to be shown on Starz next January.
