Rotary Foundation donates New Stem Cell Harvesting Equipment to Stem cell Bank

Chennai: The Rotary Club of Madras East and the Rotary Club of Makati Ayala (Philippines) donated a new stem cell harvesting equipment to Jeevan Blood and Stem Cell Bank and Research Center.

Speaking at a meeting on Wednesday, Dr. Saranya Narayan co-founder and medical director of Jeevan Blood Bank and Research Center explained that the new equipment would help harvest stem cells efficiently.”

He said, “It would minimize risk of contamination as against the manual process of harvesting stem cells and with nearly 42,000 registered childbirths every day.

India can greatly contribute towards the cure of blood and blood-related diseases through stem cells, Dr Narayan added.
