Sejwal fails to qualify in 100 mt breaststroke

India’s Sandip Sejwal failed to qualify in the heats of men’s 100 metre breaststroke in the swimming competition of the 29th Olympic Games here Saturday.

Sejwal was second in his heat clocking 1:02.19 seconds behind Daniel Velez of Puerto Rico (1:01.80). But he was eliminated as he finished 38th overall.

The top 16 including 9 winners of 9 heats plus seven others with best timings qualify for the semi-finals. Eight from semis qualify for the final.
