Ecuador’s security minister has proposed setting up a multilateral peace-keeping force to guard Colombia’s border if the country is unable to patrol it by itself.

Ecuador cuts diplomatic ties with Colombia

Ecuador has decided to cut diplomatic ties with Colombia, the president’s office said in a statement here.
“The government of Ecuador has decided to break diplomatic relations with Colombia, starting today,” the statement said Monday.
